All-natural API® POND SALT is made from evaporated sea water, and provides essential electrolytes that fish need to survive. Salt improves gill function, protects against nitrite toxicity, and reduces stress by helping to maintain a natural balance of electrolytes in the body fluids of pond fish. It may be used safely with all API pond water conditioners, filtration materials, fish remedies, and fish foods.RIUM SALT does not evaporate, and is not filtered out, so it should only be added with each water change.  Care should be taken when using salt with live plants, as some plants may be sensitive. 

Ponds with plants: add 1.25 cups of Pond Salt for each 100 gallons of pond water. Ponds without plants: add 2.5 cups of Pond Salt for each 100 gallons of pond water.
