Description
Mimic Tang Lemon Peel - Acanthurus pyroferus
Also known as the Mimic Surgeon or Chocolate Surgeonfish, this Tang has a bright yellow body as a juvenile with blue highlights around the eyes and gills, mimicking the Lemonpeel Angelfish. As it matures, the body turns tan with red and green accents on the fins.
Best kept in a 125+ gallon tank with plenty of live rock and open swimming space. It can be aggressive toward other Tangs but is peaceful with most other fish.
Diet: Primarily marine seaweed and algae, with some meaty foods. Offer dried seaweed on a clip at least 3x per week. Excellent for algae control in reef tanks.
