VodaFlux Catalytic Carbon Chloramine Removal
Catalytic Carbon for Chloramine Removal and Advanced Aquarium Filtration
VodaFlux Catalytic Carbon is a high-performance catalytic activated carbon designed for superior water purification. It is ideal for freshwater and marine aquariums, as well as drinking water and pond systems where removal of chloramines, chlorine, hydrogen sulfide, and other persistent contaminants is critical.
Using a specialized steam activation process, this carbon delivers high surface area, strong catalytic activity, and long-lasting filtration performance. It also features excellent hardness and low ash content for clean handling and reliable use in high-flow systems.
Aquarium Benefits
- Removes chloramines, chlorine, hydrogen sulfide, and hydrogen peroxide
- Adsorbs pesticides, phenols, THMs, TCE, and organic pollutants
- Improves water clarity, odor, and taste
- Hard granules with low dust for clean and easy use
- Ideal for media reactors, sumps, RO prefilters, and filter chambers
Typical Properties
- Iodine Number: 1050
- Hardness: 98
- Mesh Size: 12x40
- Catalytic Activity: Minimum 20 percent
Directions for Use
- Rinse thoroughly with clean freshwater or RO/DI water to remove dust
- Use approximately 1/2 cup or 50 grams per 50 gallons of water
- Place in a mesh filter bag, media reactor, or canister filter
- Replace every two to four weeks depending on bioload and clarity
Directions for Use in RO System
When using as a chloramine blaster in an RO system, fill the cartridge loosely with carbon and leave approximately one quarter inch of space at the top. Do not pack the carbon tightly. Tightly packed carbon will lead to channeling or bypass, reducing the effectiveness of chloramine removal and overall filtration performance.
Warnings
- For aquarium use only
- Always rinse before use
- May reduce trace elements, so monitor water parameters
- Do not use with medications unless specified, as carbon may remove active ingredients
- Store in a dry place and keep out of reach of children and pets
